Life at Kensington
Cultural Life
In its most comprehensive sense, culture flourishes here.
Our special relationship with the Monmouth Conservatory of Music ensures that fine use is made of the concert grand piano in the great room... and that great room provides an ideal venue for live entertainment several times a month ranging from string quartets to vocal ensembles to country fiddlers, not to mention the odd saxophonist.
With Red Bank just a few minutes away, and Princeton and New York less then an hour away there's no shortage of opportunities to enjoy theater, orchestra, art museums, opera, musical or sporting events. In fact, trips to Blue Claws games are one of the specialties of our bus drivers.
Perhaps you'll nurture your creative instincts through knitting or watercolors. You might enjoy releasing the muse within you by taking part in a writing or poetry club.
If you're captivated by the magic of growing your own flowers and vegetables, raised garden beds are available for you to continue your hobby.
How many people does it take to accomplish all this? Well, besides the talents of more than a hundred Residents, we have a professional staff of three full-time social life directors, five-part-time social-life associates, a fleet of buses and a lot of very active imaginations.
